Yimmy Kil This is a brilliantly written truth telling album that bleeds honesty throughout. They have a calming almost Simon and Garfunkel sound but more country sounding. I love artists that put it all on the table for the passion of a song. You have a new fan. Favorite track: The Wrong Side.

Short sighted people in power They're killing us quick  By the day, by the hour While they stack up their profits It's never enough But We're the ones left here to clean it all up   The NRA's pulling the trigger The body count is growing  bigger and bigger While they stack up their profits  It's never enough We're down on  our knees cleaning up  blood  and the Fossil fuels fueling the fires The temperature's rising  We're down to the wire While they stack up their profits  It's never enough We're the ones drowning and burning up  The drug companies selling us poison Turned a whole generation into addicts for what?  So they could stack up their profits It's never enough  We can't afford rehab so we just lock them up  Damn these short sighted people in power We can't let them divide us from their ivory tower We must come together  Say enough is enough It'll take everyone of us to get what we want  From these short sighted people in power

All you "hollywood elites" You just don't understand us  We like our leader rich With no political experience So what if he hates women ? I can barely stand my wife So what if he hates immigrants ? I've been taught to my whole life  What has happened to the white man? You know, we like power too  Ain't allowed to express it  The way these colored people do  It ain't like nothin' bad's ever happened  And if it did those men they weren't like us  See, we're just trying to protect our families  From people that we can't trust  Chorus I miss america the way it used to be When i turned on my tv  all i saw was people just like me I miss america when i walked out my door  There weren't a bunch of snowflake protests  It was peaceful but it ain't anymore I miss america  It aint my fault  All them Indians died Had to start a country some how I hear oklahoma's nice So what about slavery I was born in 1959 Regan told us that they're weak and their lazy Milking welfare for every dime  Dont get me started on the gays Or abortion, that's a sin  God told me through the tv preacher  You know i put my faith in him I love this country and i show it  With my confederate flag in the wind It's Everybody else is to blame  For these hard times we're living in  Chorus I miss america the way it used to be When i turned on my tv all I saw was people just like me  I miss America when i walked out my door  There weren't a bunch of snowflake protests It was peaceful but it ain't anymore yeah it was peaceful but it ain't anymore yeah I miss america

Cant go jogging Can't go walking Cant watch tv In their own fucking apartment   Cant go shopping  Cant wear a hoodie Cant get caught sleeping In the house they live in  Cant get caught driving Cant get pulled over  Cant get caught reaching Cant get caught with their arms up  Cant get caught complying Cant get caught denying Cant get caught protesting Cant get caught trying  Cant get caught living  Cant get caught running  Cant get caught giving  Cant get caught with a broken tail light Cant go bird watching  Cant go to the pool  Cant play in the park Or get caught playing the fool  Cant get caught standing  Cant get caught on the ground  Cant get caught trying to get away  Cant get caught minding their own Cant get caught helping  Cant get caught playing with toys  Or with  their hands in their pockets  Cant get caught selling  Loose cigarettes  Cant get caught yelling Can't get caught In their own fucking bed Cant get caught trying to breathe Cant get caught asking for help  Cant get caught crying  Cant get caught taking care of themselves   But try and to take a white man's hair cut away  They'll storm the state capitol with ar-15's And you can bet They'll walk away They can shoot up black churches They can shoot up the schools They can shoot at the cops They can shoot up the rules  White folks can shoot till they're blue in the face You can bet they'll walk away  It's the all american way  Its the all american way  It's the all american way  Its the all american way

Ain't much going on  It's been that way for months now  When we traded hope for darkness I Should've known that pain would come around  Unemployment's dry  just like the hands on everybody  Wash em to happy birthday two times While the tears flood in your eyes   Chorus The experts told us  The science showed us  But the ego of the POTUS  was to big to fight off again Now everybody knows somebody We all know somebody That died who could've lived Verse 2 Distance is all I see  Distance, the distance 6 feet, no hugs for instance  or the distance between screens  But a whole 'nother kind of distance Is killing us today  The space between the truth  And and what this white house has to say   Chorus The experts told us  The science showed us  But the ego of the POTUS  Was to big to fight off again Now everybody knows somebody We all know somebody that died who could've lived  We all know somebody We all know somebody We all know somebody that died who could've lived

was looking for adventure when I walked out front I ain't left this house in months Sittin' on the porch chain smokin' camels Drinking like a drunk while the rain came down So I got real high and I sat right down I couldn't tell ya where I was bound But all of a sudden I got where I was going and buddy you won't believe what I found Its crazy unbelievable You see i went through a hallway Up and down some stairs I was underground for a while The roots looked like hairs With the humidity growing ten fold in the air I wasn't surprised in the least I was in Florida Jacksonville at The Republican national convention Louis Gohmert was there He was coughin' on everyone Gaetz was wasted and baked from a gas mask bong he was token on Tom cotton was armed with his white out and erasing the pages of our history William p Barr Chad wolf and some others Had the statue of liberty trapped in the northwestern corner After tear gas flash bangs and beating her silly an unmarked car drove her away As I'm scanning the room I catch a glimpse of Jim Jordan He's alone and he's yelling and he thinks it's important Then I see Ted Cruz come over and try to console him and Jim's like “fuck off Ted, nobody likes you” Poor teddy Someone drew a mustache on the portrait of McCain It ain't much of a mystery who would do such a thing The word loser with two O's covered his name and he had two horns coming out of his head I'll give you three guesses, Judges? captain bonespurs will work Pretty soon everybody made their way to their seats It was time for the show, the crowd took to their feet But right before that piece of shit started to speak.... Mike pence walks in with.. Susan Collins Just the two of them ...together Now everybody knows one thing about Mike He can't go anywhere with a woman without the company of his wife And it was right around then I woke up on the porch realized I was having a dream of the nightmare sort Now it certainly wasn't where I wished I had gone But it is where we are until election day comes I hope that we vote out everyone of these clowns so the next time I leave I can go out of town. please... i just wanna leave...safely So for the sake of the country vote this election day By mail, absentee or the old fashioned way If you have to go out make sure you've got a mask Lets all come together and take out the trash

9.
The gas lighting army Is out here extinguishing the truth with their bad faith arguments  All over airwaves, their victims  Mindlessly consume  A conspiracy here A conspiracy there  Pretty soon they all grow into one  in the vacuum of trust desperate they lust For some sense in the chaos  what a fun Time to be an American  Now the color of the sky is a subjective  2 and 2 add up to whatever you want  There's a whole apparatus built to destroy The objective truths we all use to enjoy  Now they're blowing up buildings they're storming state capital  Fueled by  some fascistic troll and his rage  It's the craziest thing it's a shame what a strange time to be an american Now what is and what isn't Is somehow up in the air And we're all out here fighting About How it got there But the truth is the truth hasn't gone anywhere  but there is this tower of lie folks always vacation there  Well back here in the real world Something is building People from all walks of life are demanding some structural change im amazed hope could still be alive in america  It's the craziest thing it's insane hope is somehow alive in america

About "Short-Sighted People In Power Deluxe Edition": We felt like the story we were trying to tell wasn’t quite complete. Originally, this concept album was written & recorded from march - august 2020 and released just a few days before election day. Needless to say, a lot has happened since then. In order to complete the original vision of this album, to be a comprehensive historical snapshot in the language of today, there needed to be more. So, we added "Driving Around" & "Hope In America" to the end of the album. They were both written in January of 2021 and really complete the story. We hope you enjoy the full, comprehensive experience. MP

Critical Acclaim for SSPIP"They are inspired, brave and brilliant songs, remarkably comprehensive but never preachy or ponderous. It’s perfect for this American moment."... "Rendered tenderly with close harmonies throughout, it evoked the sound of Don Henley and Glenn Frey singing Randy Newman songs. It’s subversive, but also soulfully charming." Paul Zollo American Songwriter

"I hear hints of Don McLean in the vocal delivery, spitting out multitudes of verbal spat to fit within each bar concisely. Forget “American Pie” people ‘cos this song has chutzpah! “Talkin RNC Blues” takes me back to the early 80’s when Bruce Springsteen released his stripped-down classic Nebraska. The arpeggiated chords underneath the spoken vocal line creates a tension and release that ebbs and flows beautifully. Danny McCloskey The Alternate Root Magazine

"...it might come off as a rootsy, country-folk fusion but its importance transcends such a sonic description. It comes from the same disenfranchised place which spawned punk, hip-hop, even rock and roll itself, and any and all movements born of being outside, forgotten, exploited, ignored and used by those in power." - Dave Franklin - Dancing About Architecture

"a time capsule of these times, that will stand as a statement for a future perspective to judge. Woody Guthrie would be proud. - Paul Mcgee - LonesomeHighway.com
